Betsy Dress

I am too impatient to wait for a better picture to share with you my new dress and first Etsy purchase.  I LOVE this dress.  Why?  Because I think it's totally cool.  No one that I know will have it anything like it. and because Willow at kitkitdodge made it just for me!

It's called the Betsy dress and it's made out of organic stretch denim ( I assume it's the cotton that's organic,not the spandex).  It has pockets which is handy for hiding things from Boo. It's a little sexy but still super-comfortable which I like.

I think the trend for things handmade is really positive in so many ways.  I know it's nothing new.  When I talk to friends here about Etsy I describe it as an online craft market with both its good and bad connotations.  The rise of blogs and ease of e-commerce has allowed a new generation of crafty folks and designers to build  their own businesses online and provide people like me with real alternatives to  mass-Made In China. 

I like that my dress was made for me, not some average size. When I inquired about the dress, I asked about the size, and also if I could have it made with a longer skirt (the original dress posted on etsy was a mini-dress).  Willow was super-accommodating.  We verified the measurements and she even made a strong effort to get made and in my mailbox before we leave on vacation next weekend.

Today I'm taking Betsy dress to San Remo for yummy italian food and to load up on Piemonte wine.
