I had this grand vision of making everybody's Christmas gifts (yeah, I know) but only managed a paltry scarf for my brother which he kindly said he liked and wore around during the week we were together.
I was disappointed that I didn't do more, but since i'm not that experienced I have to go slow and go back an make mistakes. I did manage to finish two baby blankets for little ones who are on the way (and even finished before they are born!) My idea for the first one was to use something bright and graphic with one side in black and white. I kept hearing just after Boo was born about how newborns love the contrast of black and white but I could never find anything. Here it is:
I'm really pleased with how the second one turned out. The fabric is from Reprodepot and I learned a lot from making the first one. Fewer mistakes, yay!
Both the blankets are from Amy Karol's book which has been a great guide. The following neck warmer I kind of made up myself after seeing similar things in shops at Christmas. I'm giving this one as a birthday gift today, but liked it so much I'm going to make my own in this cool pumpkin-colored yarn (hopefully before the weekend when I go to Rome for 3 days)

Hi,
The baby blankets look so great! I especially like the one that has black and white. I also did hear that babies like the black and white contrast (from my Child Development class, so the science has confirmed this). The lovely scarf that you made is being worn at various dinners out and walks about town, I'm sure you'll be happy to hear.
Take care, all three of you!
